When this home was featured on the pages of House and Home, I was instantly drawn to the use of pattern, colour and charm. Designed by Stacey Smithers, this home is a great example of my 70-25-5 colour rule. This rule is a rule the rooms I design live by, and it has it's roots in my days as a fashion student at Ryerson. One of my illustration professors would encourage us to use 70% of one colour, 25% of a secondary colour, and 5% of a "surprise" colour for dynamic, cohesive illustrations. That training has translated into my interior work and as you can see in this space, the use of grey, purple and yellow has been strategic and cohesive. I love that this strong palette has seamlessly been carried out in this 900 square foot home- a great strategy in a small space.
I love how fun this interior is, and that sofa in the first image is to die for, don't you think? Thanks so much to Lisa for sharing her favorite interior! I hope you all enjoyed it, and that you have a great day!
