My Office

Hello all!  So, I sat down to right my post for today and while thinking about what to post I realized I didn't show you my office yet. Remember way, way back when I mentioned I was doing it? {click HERE to see what this room used to look like} Well, it has been done for a while, and I am really enjoying it.  Here is a quick peek...

Obviously if I were to do my dream office, there would be a lot of different pieces, but this is not bad for under $1000 for everything!  I love that it is very neutral so I don't get over stimulated while working with colours for clients, my inspiration board is so wonderful to look at everyday, as is my pretty orchid whom I've named Mary.  I have oodles of storage in the drawers and bookcase, as well as my huge filing cabinet which you can only see a corner of because it's not pretty - my plan is to wallpaper it.  Oh, and the bird patterned Dwell Studio fabric called "Vintage Blossom" that I used for my valences makes me smile every time I see it.  And yes, that is my autographed photo of Martha Stewart adorning my bookcase {if you would like to know the story behind it, click HERE} which is inspiring for me to see during a work day.  Really it has many great qualities, so I'm pretty happy with it overall, and it allows me to stay very organized because everything has a home.

This last picture is of my wall day planner you may want to try at home - it's very easy to do.  I used some coordinating fabric {Dwell Studio fabric called "Work" - perfect name for my office fabric} that went well with the window valances and stuck printouts on top using hot glue, that had Monday to Friday written and one that said To Do.  I cut the fabric to the appropriate size and placed them into inexpensive frames behind the matting, and voila - fun, personalized, and good looking wipe boards!  I write what I need to do, or what appointments I have on the glass of the corresponding frame using wipe board markers, and when I'm done I just wipe the text away and start fresh!  It's great for me because I like to see my week at a glance several times during the day and I like to have a very current list.

Well there you go, I hope you liked my cute, humble, and very inexpensive office as well as my little wipe board DIY project.  Do you have a home office that you love?
