We are interrupting the week of IDS Review for the regular feature Favorite Interior Tuesdays, and today we have the darling Christine from Bijou & Boheme sharing one of her favorite interiors. Christine is a blogger, mother, and a lady with an outstanding sense of style! If you read her blog you know exactly what I mean, if not, you are about to find out...
Before I start, I have to let you all know that I was lucky enough to meet Staci in person and she is not only extremely talented, but utterly charming as well so I am honoured to be a guest over here at her gorgeous blog.
And now, my favorite interior. In all honesty, it was very difficult to narrow down all of my most beloved spaces into one final selection. Having said that, I have chosen one to showcase here today that reflects my overall style and certainly illustrates my outlook on design.
I have to thank the lovely Alcira (The Nero Chronicles) for first showing me this gorgeous space. My eyes lit up like a Christmas tree the first time I saw it on a guest post she featured on my blog. I quickly emailed her for the info and she sent me the entire portfolio of pictures, along with a link to the designer. So a giant thank you Alcira!!!
This home was designed by Luis Laplace of LaPlace & Co. I adore the overall elegance of the space but also love the playful addition of whimsical art and bold accessories.
The mantel display aptly illustrates the beautiful quirkiness of this apartment.
A shot of the living room shows glorious windows, gorgeously ornate painted mouldings and an enchanting juxtaposition of old and new. I adore the herringbone floors and love how the modern graphic artwork perfectly balances the historic features of the appartment.
The glass coffee table keeps the space open and airy, while the bursts of saturated colour (like those amazing emerald green chairs) make the eye dance around the room.
The skilled balance of antique and modern is again demonstrated in the office. The regency desk rests sweetly on a vintage floral rug while a mid century arch lamp lends an extra bit of drama and edge to the space...keeps it from being too sticky sweet.
In the dining room, bright yellow school chairs seems an unlikely pairing in such a luxe room but of course, the mix serves to demonstrate how opposites most certainly attract.
All in all, this home manages to check off all of dream home wish list items with ease. The soaring ceilings, floor to ceiling windows and perfectly crafted mouldings simply make my heart sing. The addition of spectacularly designed furniture and striking art just makes the whole space a total feast for the eyes and serves to perfectly illustrate my take on design.
The very talented Meredith Heron perfectly summed up my aesthetic (when discussing the designfor my new soon to be kitchen- cue happy dance) as liking... "a curated feel, New York Brownstone meets Parisan Peid a Terre shipped to you via London, England." This apartment exemplifies that description in utterly fabulous style.
Thank you again the lovely Staci for having me!
Thanks so much Christine, this apartment is exactly what I would have picked for you as well, very much your style! Be sure to visit Christine over at Bijou & Boheme for some more delicious eye candy.
