A Thank You With Style

Today I would like to take a moment to thank these three sweet ladies... Kelly at Jax Does Design, Marianne at Style For Living, and Mary Ann at Classic Casual Home for awarding me with this beauty:

I am so honoured that you have passed this award onto me - Hugs!  So, the rules for receiving this award are that you must tell seven things about yourself and then pass this award onto 10 great bloggers.  I have shared things about myself for a similar award before {see that entry HERE}, so I'm sorry to those who maybe sick of reading about lil ol' me, but rules are rules.  Here we go...

1.  I live with the worlds greatest man {sorry ladies} my boyfriend Adam, his two children Mark and Caroline {who frequently stay with us, when they are not with their Mom}, and our cool cat Diesel who is more like a dog than a cat - He likes to follow us around the house, greet us at the door when we come home, and he drools when he sleeps!
2.  I live right off a lake, and now that I have lived so close to the water I think I will always have to.  I love walking along the water with a cup of tea, I feel it is good for the soul.
3.  I think I may have a slight problem with the need for constant organization.  Everything has a home, and that is where things belong.  If things are not where they belong or looking messy I become bothered.  I am also known for straightening things in other peoples homes when they are not looking.  Crazy I know, but there are worse things I could do!
4.  I tried many things as a child, but the one thing I loved the most {and miss doing today} was horseback riding.  I worked at the barn to earn money to pay for riding.  I was more than happy to be out mucking stalls, grooming and training horses everyday in the summer.  Funny how waking up at 4:30am doesn't seem early when you are passionate about something.
5.  I hated the taste of dark chocolate, but have recently made the switch {because it is healthier than milk chocolate}, now I love the taste, and cannot get enough.  My favorite choice is Divine 70% Dark Chocolate, their tag line is "Heavenly Chocolate With A Heart" because they are Fair Trade Certified - Hooray!
6.  I try to be as good to the earth and to my body as I can - thanks to reading Gorgeously Green - If you have not read it yet, you should, it changed my outlook on a lot of things!  I just make simple everyday choices that are better for the earth and for my health, and thus feel really good about my choices.  I'm no t a hardcore environmentalist, but every little bit helps!
7.  I have a major quirk with my feet, I don't like them to touch the ground when they are bare... Ever!  I always have to have slippers on my feet when I am not in shoes.  The only time I am okay with my feet touching the ground is in the sand at the beach, and what is more crazy is that at the beach I cannot stand having sandals or shoes on... Ever!  Bah ha ha!  Strange, I know.

Well, there you have it, seven things about me... Some good and some downright odd.  Next I am supposed to choose 10 bloggers to pass this very sweet award onto, and my goodness that is hard to do.  I hate leaving people out, and I really have too many bloggers to name, so I am stealing, er I mean borrowing an idea from my dear friend Wendy at Desire To Decorate and am going to refer you to my blog roll for my favorite stylish bloggers!  {Wendy is a genius}

I'd like to say thank you again to the very stylish and super sweet Kelly, Marianne, and Mary Ann for such an honour!  Also, oodles of thanks to all of my very stylish and super sweet readers too - Your kindness and support is very much appreciated every single day!

  1. Congrats on your award and loved learning more about you- the quirky feet thing is too funny- I'm weird about mine too but in the other direction- hate socks- they make my feet feel clasterphobic- hows that for weird:) Great post and I wish I had read that idea of the blogroll before doing mine- hated picked a list of blogs too- I just love waaay too many!

  2. Hahaha! I love your list, and your foot/shoe thing is hilarious! :-) Don't worry, we all have our little quirks - I hate hair touching my face, which is solved by keeping it short :-)

    I need you to come to my house and organize!

    I had a horse for about 5 years - I sold her two years ago because I just didn't have the time to commit to riding her. Plus I fell off and cracked a few ribs & punctured a lung, which kind of turned me off riding! But I do miss my horse, and sometimes I still wish I could go riding.

  3. I want to read "Gorgeously Green"...and what an entertaining cat you have!

  4. So great learning more about you! I don't walk anywhere barefoot either. I take socks to the airport so my feet won't touch the floor at the security point and of course to anyone's house that require shoes off. Definitley don't want to be barefoot in another persons house!

  5. Thanks for visiting my blog Staci. I smiled when I read your list as I hate touching the floor barefoot too. I think it has something to do with the fact that I can't stand the sight of dirty feet. Especially in movies when the actors are in bed - what's up with that?

Oodles of thanks for the comment!
