Hi Staci Edwards Blog readers! I'm so honoured to be here today. When Staci asked me to post about my favourite interior, I knew just which house to write about. I've had this home in my inspiration folder since I first saw it on Just Beachy's Blog in 2008! Suffice it to say, it made quite an impression on me.
Designed by architect Fred Wilson and photographed by Gordon Beall for the pages of Traditional Home, this home is everything I want my own home to be - a welcoming, friendly traditional home for a modern family. I love the facade; I've always dreamed of having a covered porch and the exterior of this house is a great mix of traditional elements, textured stone, and a gorgeous blue colour.
The interior is primarily white, white, and more white. All the better I say to show off those stunning architectural details like the transom windows, the coffered ceilings, the columns, and the barrel-vaulted ceiling!
This kitchen was one of the inspirations for my own kitchen (though my kitchen is about 1/8th the size, haha). Don't you just love the built-in coffee machine and microwave column?
And this living room is one of my favourites - I drool over that daybed. The grasscloth wallpaper keeps all the white trim from feeling too cold and sterile. The linen and soft blues provide just a hint of colour. Its such an inviting and stylish room, perfect for a young family.
I could literally move into this house and change not a thing. Thanks Staci for letting me share my favourite interior with your readers!
It is such a beautiful home! I'd say my favorite room is the kitchen... How about you? Dont forget to visit Jennifer's blog, Rambling Renovators, today to see what she is up to, you will be very pleased!
