Tree & Gifts ~ Holiday Home Tour

Today I am sharing my tree and gift wrapping with you for the last day of my holiday home tour...

The tree is just off our family room, which as I mentioned yesterday has red as the main accent colour, so I used red ribbon as an accent on the tree.

As you can see from some of our ornaments, we have a very eclectic and cozy tree.  We have all kinds of ornaments like a shakespearean monkey, homemade kids ornaments, and some nice painted glass pieces.

I try to keep what's under the tree just as nice.  This year I've wrapped using white or brown craft paper and decorated with a variety of polka dot ribbon with different patterns and colours. For gifts of wine, I used bags of white or brown craft paper and tied some of the polka dot ribbon to the handle to stay with my theme.  For gift cards I like to wrap them in tissue and tuck them into little chinese takeout boxes, and of course decorate with the fun ribbon!

Seeing as the kids have tons of gifts {this stack is actually taller than them} and they just tear into them, I wrap their gifts with inexpensive paper, and don't worry about decorating them.  Also, because we don't have enough room under the tree I stack them next to the tree, this makes Christmas morning easier too as we don't need to search for all the gifts under the tree because most of them are to leave the house for other family members {and some of course are for Adam and I, but I keep them grouped in one area}.

Well, I hope you have enjoyed my holiday home tour this week and if you have missed some days, please scroll down and take a look, this is the last home tour post.  My goodness, it is Christmas Eve tomorrow, can you believe it?  Time flies!

  1. That is a huge stack of gifts! We actually haven't put have any gifts under the tree yet :-( We don't have kids and don't have many family members to buy for, and half the gifts I bought went down to Pittsburgh with my dad.

Your tree is beautiful, and love your mix of ornaments :-) And your wrapping is amazing! WOW!

    Have a wonderful Christmas!

That is quite the stack of gifts! You could almost wrap lights around it and make it another tree!
