Shannon's Favorite Interior

As I had mentioned last week I am starting a new feature here on my blog, where each week a guest blogger will share with us one of their favorite interiors!  Today is the big launch of "Favorite Interior Tuesdays" and to start us off I have asked my dear friend Shannon from What's Up Whimsy to share her favorite interior.  Shannon has a lovely blog, a wonderful sense of style, and I am so happy to call her my friend.  Without further adieu, here is Shannon with one of her favorite interiors...

I am so honoured to kick off Staci’s feature! Over the last couple of months, Staci and I have become great friends and she is an incredibly talented interior designer and blogger.  I’m so happy I met her through blogging.  Okay, enough lovey dovey stuff, let’s get on with one of my favorite interiors.
Lonny Magazine is always a great source of inspiration to me, but when I saw Michelle Adams’s apartment in their April/May 2010 issue, my jaw dropped.  Michelle happens to be Lonny’s Editor in Chief, so I didn’t really expect anything less from her, but this space is so gorgeous! What I like about it is that the design is not too stuffy, the space has a lot of character, the mix of old and new pieces, and it has touch of whimsy to it, which is right up my alley.  Okay, enough of me talking, let me show you the goods.

Let me just start with the wallpaper – did you notice they were ostriches?? I don’t know of many spaces that can pull off ostriches with their heads in the sand, but it works here.  Second, those yellow and white chevron drapes are amazing!  And third, I love a touch of lucite in any room.

I just love this little vignette of the hallway – the wooden floors, the white dresser on the right, the little pop of colour in the moroccan pouf on the left and the peek into Michelle’s gorgeous bedroom.

And last, but not least this shot of the other side of her bedroom.  Again, the black walls are so dramatic! And I adore that settee!  Hope you liked the tour of one of my favorite interiors and thanks again to the wonderful Staci for letting me share it with you.

  1. This one was a favorite of mine too. It was the white and yellow super-sized herringbone drapery fabric that did it for me. The scale is just so over-the-top and totally makes the space. Love your new feature!

  10. This is going to be a fun feature :-)

I hadn't seen this apartment before -- the ostrich wallpaper is so quirky and fun!! And I really like the striped dining chairs and the dark charcoal walls in the bedroom.

P.S. Good to hear that you like my Designer's Challenge post. I'm actually using most of the elements in a proposal I'm putting together for a real-life client :-)
