{Entertaining Ideas}

I love to entertain!  I really don't do it often {usually one or two large parties a year} because it is a lot of work and time consuming, but when I do throw a party, I really enjoy it.  I get mostly get entertaining ideas from wedding blogs, and here are some of my favorite ideas that I have collected over the years {and because I collected these images in my pre-blog days, I have no idea where the images came from, so please excuse me for not giving credit, and if you know where they came from please let me know}...

I love the idea of having sweets packaged individually like this!  It allows guests to grab their sweet treat for dessert and still mingle without having to balance a plate, fork, napkin and drink.

Boxes with sweet treats would work just as well!  And if you are tight on space, then having them pinned onto a colourful board like this keeps table space available for tea and coffee stations and it looks great.

I always recommend adding a little colour and cheer to ice buckets with flowers, it's so simple to do and adds a lot of impact!

Have a kids table?  Make it fun like they did in this photo!  I love the lollypop centerpiece and the personalized pizza boxes, and don't forget a little loot bag/box full of things to keep them occupied.

I planned to do this for Adam's parents' anniversary party using photos from their wedding and a very large bush wall we have in our yard, but our branches were too flimsy.  If you can find a bush strong enough, this is a wonderful idea to showcase photos!

Ahh, dessert in a cup.  Another great way to keep guests from juggling too many items while socializing - Not to mention they look fantastic!

This is one of my all time favorite ideas, and quite the crowd pleaser!  How cute, right?

While this has a bride and grooms tag on it, take the same concept of the candy apple and attach a place card, and voila, a unique way to let your guests know where to sit.

People tend to like to know what they are eating, so this is a wonderful idea if you have the space!  Just write what items are being served on the tags attached to these beautiful glass covers.  I hope you got a few ideas from these images, and I would love to know if there is one you will be trying at your next party!

  2. Hi Staci! Love the ideas. I, too, have binders full of decorating, landscaping, entertaining ideas and they make me feel good each time I pull them out and look through them, as they're all things that I loved and saved!

    The kids table in your post is so cute -- any kid would love to sit there! And I, too, love the little individual desserts. Along with being charming, they are very easy to hold on to. And I smiled when I saw your domes too, as I have a whole collection of them! Sounds like we like a lot of the same things ... doesn't surprise me! xo
