{Island Living}

I have said it before, and I'll say it again... It is H-O-T, hot outside!  I try my best not to complain about it because as a Canadian I spend a good 8 months of the year wishing it was hot out.  This type of heat is what I think of when I think of a far off, hot, tropical island and we are just not used to that kind of heat up here!  Although, this heat wave has inspired a great blog post as I am dreaming of an island home like this one, designed by E. Claudio Modola, on a remote island called Lamu in Kenya.

Oh yes, with a pool and view like that I would manage the 45 degree temperatures just fine thank you very much!

And if I wanted to take a little nap between swims I would pop into this lovely cabana!

This would be the perfect place to hang out with friends and family for pre or post dinner cocktails, don't you think?  I adore the bold prints on the pillows - very "islandy"

What group wouldn't love sitting around this table for dinner?  What a great atmosphere to stimulate inspirational conversation!

And yes, there is an inside to this house!  I would say based on the outdoor photos that I would never use the inside... Until I saw the inside that is!  Beautiful.  I love the thin beams on the ceiling in the first image of the cozy nook.  I adore the juliette balcony overlooking the dining area.  And my favorite room inside is the master suite, crisp and refreshing, just the way I like it!  Ahhhh... Nothing makes people want to handle the heat like island living.  Am I right, or am I right?  I hope you enjoyed this stunning home as much as I did!
Happy (HOT) Wednesday!
