{A Lofty Design}

I hope you are ready for a treat!  This stunning 4,035 square foot New York style loft was once a school house in south London, now it is the home of the extremely talented Interior Designer Kelly Hoppen.

What an incredible space, don't you think?  Kelly actually wanted to sell it shortly after she purchased it because she thought it was too large and was not as in love with it as she had thought she would be. She obviously came around and is very happy with her home, and I don't blame her... It's perfect!

Kelly chose to keep the furnishings and colour palette very neutral so it wouldn't be in competition with the great architectural features and character of space.

The formal dining room is gorgeous!  I am in love with the custom tassel light, and it really helps to add texture in this room.  The zebra skin and the giant Anglepoise lamp (back left corner) help to keep the space feeling relaxed and fun!

The kitchen compliments the rest of the space so well, and I love that she didn't add upper cabinets, this helps to accentuate the height and grandeur of the space.

I like how she splashes the space with feature pieces like the wooden screen, yellow armchair, and the suspended Plexiglass Bubble chair; this adds playfulness to the calm neutral decor.  I hope you have enjoyed Kelly's home as much as me!

  1. Wow!

    This reminded me of when I used to live in London and I remembered watching all these T.V. reality home shows where people bought old churches, schools, etc. and turned them into single or multi-flat homes.
